1. Who we are

Feature and Fit is a vehicle specification reference site published by KCS Global Group, a company registered in India with its office at 2nd Floor, Shop No. 22, 19/22, Maitri Nagar, Risali – 490006, District Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. More about the publication is on our About page.

For the purposes of data protection law, KCS Global Group is the data controller — or data fiduciary, under Indian law — for personal information collected through this website. This policy applies to featureandfit.com only. It does not apply to other sites we publish, or to any third-party website you reach by following a link from here.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

We only receive this if you choose to send it. If you email us or use the form on our Contact page, we receive your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message. If you post a comment, we receive the name, email address and comment text you submit, along with your IP address and browser user agent string.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting server records technical details about each visit. This information is collected whether or not you interact with anything:

IP address Used to deliver the page, protect against abuse, and estimate approximate location at country or region level
Device and browser Browser type and version, operating system, screen size, and language setting
Pages and referrer Which pages you viewed, when, how long for, and which site or search result sent you here
Server logs Requests, error codes and timestamps, retained by our host for security and troubleshooting

We do not ask for, and have no use for, your full name, postal address, phone number, date of birth, financial details or any government identification. Please do not send us any of these.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website, or a third party working with it, stores on your device. This site uses them in three categories.

Strictly necessary Set by WordPress to keep the site working, remember your consent choices, and protect forms against abuse. The site cannot function without these.
Analytics Help us understand which articles are read and where readers arrive from, in aggregate. Set only where permitted.
Advertising Set by Google and other advertising vendors to select ads, limit how often you see the same one, and measure performance.

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Every major browser allows this, and AllAboutCookies.org explains how for each one. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working correctly.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

This site carries display advertising, which is how it is paid for. We do not control which specific ads appear.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also place cookies or use web beacons to collect information about your browsing in order to select and measure ads.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google through Google Ad Settings. Google’s own explanation of how it uses data in advertising is at How Google uses cookies in advertising, and its general policy is at Google Privacy Policy.

To opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at once, use the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tool, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool, or, in Europe, Your Online Choices.

Opting out of personalised advertising does not remove ads. It means the ads you see are selected without using your browsing history, so they will generally be less relevant.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which articles are read, how readers arrive, and where pages are failing them. This tells us which specifications are worth expanding and which are not being found. It is reporting on patterns across all visitors, not surveillance of individuals, and we do not attempt to identify any reader from it.

Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address and device information on our behalf. You can prevent it collecting your data entirely by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6. Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you, and may set a cookie to attribute that sale. The retailer’s own privacy policy governs what happens once you leave this site. Our position on these links, and how we disclose them, is set out in our Affiliate disclosure.

7. How we use information

  • To deliver pages and keep the site available and secure
  • To answer messages you send us, including specification corrections
  • To understand which articles are useful and decide what to publish next
  • To display advertising and measure whether it performed
  • To detect and block spam, scraping and attempted attacks
  • To meet legal obligations where they apply to us

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not send marketing email. We have no newsletter and no mailing list. If you email us, we use your address to reply to you and for nothing else.

8. Who we share it with

Our hosting provider Stores the site and its server logs so the site can be delivered to you
Google Advertising and analytics, as described in sections 4 and 5
Advertising vendors Third parties working through Google’s advertising products to select and measure ads
Email and form providers Deliver messages you send through the contact form to our inbox
Security services Spam filtering and attack prevention, which necessarily see request data

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others. We do not share your information with anyone else.

Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases. We rely on legitimate interests to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate readership. We rely on consent for analytics and advertising cookies, which you may withdraw at any time. We rely on legitimate interests to reply when you contact us, and on legal obligation where a law requires us to retain or disclose something.

10. Your privacy choices

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings
  • Opt out of personalised ads using the tools linked in section 4
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked in section 5
  • Enable Global Privacy Control in a browser that supports it — we honour this signal as an opt-out request where law requires
  • Email info@featureandfit.com to ask us to access or delete what we hold

There is no universally agreed standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, so we do not currently respond to them. We do respond to Global Privacy Control signals, which are recognised under several US state laws.

11. Rights in the United States

Most of our readers are in the United States. Depending on your state — California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and others have their own laws — you may have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request a copy, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, our use of advertising cookies may be treated as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out using the advertising controls in section 4, by enabling Global Privacy Control, or by emailing us. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly collect or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

To make a request, email info@featureandfit.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm the request genuinely relates to your data.

12. Rights in the EEA and UK

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority, or to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK.

To exercise any of these, email info@featureandfit.com.

13. Rights in India

We operate from India and are subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are in India, you have the right to obtain confirmation of and access to the personal data we process about you, to correction and erasure, to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, and to a grievance redressal process.

Send grievances to info@featureandfit.com, marked “Grievance”. We acknowledge receipt and respond within the period the Act requires.

14. Children’s privacy

This site is written for adults researching vehicle purchases. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that threshold. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email info@featureandfit.com and we will delete it.

15. How long we keep data

Emails and form messages Kept while the matter is open, and for up to 24 months afterwards so we can trace the history of a correction
Comments Kept indefinitely while published, so replies remain readable in context
Server logs Retained by our host on its own schedule, typically a matter of weeks
Analytics data Retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics property

You can ask us to delete your messages or comments earlier than this at any time.

16. Security

This site is served over HTTPS. We keep WordPress, its plugins and its themes updated, restrict administrative access to the people who need it, and use spam and intrusion protection. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. This is also why we ask you not to send us sensitive personal or financial information — there is no reason for us to have it.

17. International transfers

We operate from India, our readers are mainly in the United States, and our service providers operate globally. Your information will therefore be processed in countries other than the one you live in, which may have different data protection rules. Where required, we rely on the safeguards our providers put in place for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses.

18. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
