Documented Silverado Tonneau Cover Fit by Cab, Bed and Year

Which tonneau cover fits your Silverado 1500?
A cover sold as ‘fits 2019 Silverado’ may not fit your truck, because 2019 and 2022 each name two different Silverado 1500 bodies. Fitting a tonneau cover comes down to bed length, cab, model-year family and cover type.
- Matching a cover to a truck you own: start with the bed lengths.
- Buying a used 2019 or 2022: go to the model-year section.
- Choosing a cover type: compare them in the cover-type section.
- Cross-shopping a Sierra: read the Sierra section.
Every cab-and-bed pair, and the ratings that go with it, sits in our Silverado 1500 specs by configuration guide.
📍 Check your own vehicle first: Specifications vary by build date, package and market, and two trucks with the same badge can be built differently. Before you buy anything based on this page, confirm against the window sticker or dealer order record for your cab, bed and tailgate, and against the ‘Fits these vehicles’ table on the Chevrolet Accessories page for the exact cover. If your vehicle disagrees with this page, your vehicle is right.
Silverado 1500 bed lengths by cab style

A Silverado 1500 bed comes in three lengths, and your cab decides which ones you can have.
Which cab gets which bed
| Cab | Bed (Chevrolet name) | Floor length (dealer-listed) | Applies To |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Cab | Standard, Long | 79.44 in, 98.18 in | 2026 |
| Double Cab | Standard | 79.44 in | 2026 |
| Crew Cab | Short, Standard | 69.92 in, 79.44 in | 2026 |
Pairings: Chevrolet’s 2026 trailering chart. Floor lengths are dealer-listed. More in our bed length by cab and crew cab bed sizes guides.
Why nicknames mislead
🔍 What This Spec Means: Buyers call the short bed 5′8″ and the standard 6′6″. Shop by the maker’s fit table, not the nickname.
Which Silverado model years share a tonneau fit?

Chevrolet’s accessory pages list the 2019 Silverado 1500 LD and 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD as separate fitment lines.
| Family | Years | What Chevrolet’s fit table lists | Applies To |
|---|---|---|---|
| Older body | 2016–2018 | Standard-box soft roll-up (22772362) | 1500 |
| 2019 LD | 2019 | Same part 22772362; short-bed cover omits LD | 1500 LD |
| New body | 2019–2026 | Short-bed soft roll-up (19416979) | 1500 Crew Cab |
| 2022 LTD | 2022 | Short-bed cover lists LTD | 1500 LTD Crew Cab |
| 2027 | Next generation | No bed lengths |

Does a 2018 cover fit a 2019 Silverado?
Only if the 2019 truck is an LD. Chevrolet lists its standard-box cover for 2016–2018 and the 2019 Silverado 1500 LD, but not for the new-body 2019 1500.
2022: LTD versus the refreshed truck
The 2022 LTD carried over the earlier truck and was sold beside the refreshed 2022, per trade reports. Chevrolet’s short-bed cover names both.
📐 On the Spec Sheet: Chevrolet’s 2027 Silverado page lists availability in late 2026 and an overall length of 212.1 to 242.5 inches, with no bed lengths.
Soft, folding or retractable: what each cover type changes
Cover type decides what you must confirm about your bed, tailgate and rails.
| Type | How it opens | Fit detail to confirm | Applies To |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soft roll-up | Rolls toward the cab | Cab, bed, years, rail type | 2019–2026 new body |
| Folding | Panels fold toward the cab | Bed, tailgate, years | |
| Retractable | Slides into a canister | Canister and bed length, years |
Soft roll-up covers
Chevrolet lists its short-bed soft roll-up for Crew Cab trucks, 2019–2026, with tool-free removal.
Folding and retractable covers
We didn’t retrieve Chevrolet fit tables for folding or retractable covers, so read each maker’s listing first.
Tailgate and bed-rail details that change fit
Tailgate and rail hardware can make a correctly sized cover wrong for your truck.
Multi-Flex and other tailgates
Chevrolet’s 2026 page lists an available Multi-Flex Tailgate, standard on the ZR2, plus power-up/-down and EZ Lift options. Some retailers sell separate covers for Multi-Flex trucks, but we found no Chevrolet statement on how it changes fit.
Bed rails and rail hardware
Chevrolet states its short-bed soft roll-up cover should not be installed on vehicles with reconfigurable bed rails. The listing we read doesn’t define the term.
✅ Do This: Ask a dealer whether your truck’s rails count as reconfigurable before ordering any cover.
Silverado and Sierra covers: what ‘fits both’ means
A listing that names both the Silverado and the Sierra is not a guarantee for every Sierra bed.
Does the Silverado have a CarbonPro bed?
No. Chevrolet’s 2026 page describes the Durabed as roll-formed steel; GMC describes CarbonPro as a carbon-fiber composite bed on the 2019 Sierra Denali and AT4, and trade reports call it Sierra-only and no longer orderable on the 2026 Sierra.
Reading a Silverado/Sierra listing
Retailer listings often name both trucks, and one warns that steel-bed clamps may not suit CarbonPro. Treat that as a retailer claim, and confirm the bed type in your Sierra’s build sheet. For how their ratings differ, see our Silverado vs Sierra 1500 ratings guide.
How to confirm a cover before you buy
Four checks settle fit before you spend a dollar.
Measure and identify your truck
- Confirm cab, bed and tailgate on the window sticker or dealer order record.
- Measure the bed floor from bulkhead to the closed tailgate.
Check the maker’s fit table
- Open the Chevrolet Accessories listing and read its Fits these vehicles table for model, body style and years: Silverado 1500, 1500 LD or 1500 LTD.
- Match tailgate and rail type to the cover maker’s listing.
✅ Do This: A cover’s weight counts against your payload, so read the tire and loading placard on the driver-side pillar for your truck’s limit.
Silverado tonneau cover fit: common questions
1. What bed lengths does the Silverado 1500 come in?
Short, standard and long. Dealer-listed floors are 69.92, 79.44 and 98.18 inches; confirm against Chevrolet’s specification sheet before ordering a cover.
2. Which Silverado cab comes with the long bed?
Only the Regular Cab. Chevrolet’s 2026 trailering chart lists the long bed on Regular Cab trucks, with the standard bed also offered.
3. Does a short-bed cover fit every 2019–2026 crew cab?
Chevrolet lists its short-bed soft roll-up for Crew Cab 2019–2026 and the 2022 LTD. Other covers need their own fit table checked.
4. Will a 2018 cover fit a 2019 Silverado?
Only the 2019 LD is listed with 2016–2018 for Chevrolet’s standard-box cover; the new-body 2019 1500 is not listed for it.
5. Is the 2022 LTD the same as the 2022 Silverado?
Chevrolet lists the 2022 LTD as its own line, though its short-bed cover names both; check the part’s table for your truck.
6. Are Silverado and Sierra tonneau covers interchangeable?
Many listings cover both, but the Sierra’s CarbonPro bed is Sierra-only, so confirm the bed type before ordering.
7. Does the Silverado have a CarbonPro bed?
No. CarbonPro is a GMC Sierra option, and trade reports say it is no longer orderable on the 2026 Sierra.
8. Does a Multi-Flex tailgate change Silverado tonneau cover fit?
Some retailers sell separate covers for Multi-Flex trucks; Chevrolet’s pages we checked don’t say how it changes fit, so read the cover maker’s listing.
9. Can I use a soft roll-up cover with reconfigurable bed rails?
Chevrolet says not to install its short-bed soft roll-up cover on vehicles with reconfigurable bed rails; ask a dealer if yours qualify.
10. Will 2027 Silverado covers fit the same way?
Unknown. Chevrolet lists the 2027 truck’s overall length but no bed lengths, so wait for its accessory fit table.
Check the fit table, not the nickname
The cover that fits is the one whose maker lists your model, body style, years and bed length, not the one that says ‘Silverado.’ Chevrolet’s own fit tables separate the 2019 LD, the new body and the 2022 LTD, and 2027 is still unpublished. Before you buy, confirm cab, bed and tailgate on your window sticker, measure the floor, and read the part’s fit table.
