Silverado 1500 bed liner fit guide showing how to check bed length, tailgate type, and existing liner before buying.

Is your Silverado 1500 bed already lined? Check first

A bed liner may already be in the truck, either GM’s factory spray-in (RPO CGN) or a dealer-installed drop-in, and it decides what you can add. This page covers 2019–2026 trucks only.

If you’re buying a truck

Find CGN on the window sticker, then check the bed; our Silverado 1500 specs by configuration pillar names the cabs.

If you’re matching a liner to a truck you own

Name your bed length, tailgate and body style first.

ℹ️ Safety Note: Liner choices touch warranty terms and bed-mounted hitch hardware; your owner’s manual and warranty booklet decide.

📍 Check your own vehicle first: Specifications vary by build date and package. Measure the bed floor, look at the tailgate, and read your RPO codes. If your truck disagrees with this page, your truck is right.

Which bed length, tailgate and body style are you lining?

Multi-Flex or standard tailgate

Automotive Fleet reported Multi-Flex reaching all Silverado 1500s in early 2021, so 2019–2020 trucks predate it; check yours.

What GM’s factory spray-in bedliner covers (RPO CGN)

GM’s RPO CGN spray-in bedliner can cover the Silverado 1500 bed floor, sidewalls, header panel, tailgate, and drain holes.

GM lists a factory spray-in bedliner (RPO CGN) as an option on 2015–2025 Silverados, per GM’s spray-in bed liner bulletin.

What RPO CGN is and which years GM’s bulletin covers

Bulletin 12-08-51-002Q (October 2024) names CGN and PDL; its years stop at 2025, so check a 2026 build sheet.

Where the coating goes

The bed, header panel, tailgate (including the rear-camera area) and drain holes.

Why it stays on

GM calls spray-in liners “permanent coatings that bond to the truck beds,” and covers its own under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

🔍 What This Spec Means: Permanent means later additions must say they work over it.

Drop-in liners: what fits and what fits but shouldn’t

Match bed length, tailgate and body style, in that order.

🚫 Fits But Shouldn’t: GM’s Bowtie liner “for Standard Bed Models,” part 84210037, lists only Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD; the fit table settles it.

Dealer-installed and aftermarket drop-ins

GM lists 84648940 for Short Bed Crew Cabs and carpeted 84655119 for Standard Bed Extended and Crew Cabs, both 2019–2026 plus 2022 LTD. No GM-listed 1500 long-bed liner was retrieved.

Tailgate type changes the part

BedRug titles new-body liners “w/ Multi-Pro tailgate” or “w/out”; its fitment page defines that. “w/o CarbonPro” notes appear on shared Silverado/Sierra listings.

The 2019 legacy-body trap

📐 On the Spec Sheet: GM’s tailgate liner 22879304 lists Silverado 1500 for 2016–2018 and 1500 LD for 2019, nothing later. Match the part number, not the badge.

Spray-in, drop-in or mat: what works over what

GM calls its factory spray-in permanent, so the bed’s current state limits what comes next.

What each choice costs you

A spray-in cannot be removed. GM’s short-bed drop-in omits the tailgate. A mat covers the floor only, per GM’s listing.

Bed covers and hardware

Match covers by bed length with tonneau cover fit by bed length; ask the maker about your liner.

Bedliners, warranty and gooseneck hitches: what to check

Check warranty terms and hitch hardware first; this is not legal advice.

Warranty: what GM and the FTC say

GM covers its factory spray-in under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. An FTC alert (July 2011) says an aftermarket part alone does not void a warranty; the maker must show it caused the repair.

Gooseneck and fifth-wheel hardware

A liner changes none of your door-jamb or trailering limits; read the maker’s notes and owner’s manual before mounting hitch hardware.

✅ Do This: Ask the liner maker in writing if it suits your hitch hardware; have a qualified installer confirm the manual’s mounting limits.

Where to confirm your truck’s bed before you order

Five checks settle every fit question above.

  1. Window sticker or build sheet: RPO CGN; how to read your RPO codes.
  2. Bed floor: tape-measure against 69.92, 79.44 or 98.18 inches.
  3. Tailgate: look at it.
  4. Body style: badge and model year, LD or LTD.
  5. Maker’s fitment page: your exact part number.

If the maker’s page and this one disagree, believe your truck and the maker. 2027 liner fit is not confirmed.

Silverado 1500 bed liner questions

1. Factory liner on a Silverado 1500?

GM lists RPO CGN, a factory spray-in bed liner, on 2015–2025 Silverados; check your build sheet.

2. What does RPO CGN mean?

GM’s code for the factory spray-in bed liner option, listed with PDL; read your window sticker.

3. Can spray-in be removed?

GM calls its factory spray-in bed liner a permanent coating bonded to the bed, not removable.

4. Does a liner void the warranty?

The FTC says an aftermarket bed liner alone does not void it; read your warranty booklet.

5. Can a mat go over spray-in?

Some makers label mats “for spray-in or no bed liner”; confirm that note for your part.

6. Does fit depend on the tailgate?

BedRug lists bed liners with and without the Multi-Pro tailgate; look at your tailgate first.

7. Does a 2019 LD liner fit new-body trucks?

GM’s tailgate liner 22879304 lists the 2019 LD, not the new body; confirm your body style.

8. What bed sizes does a liner need?

Short, Standard and Long, with floors dealer-listed at 69.92, 79.44 and 98.18 inches; measure yours.

9. Why “without CarbonPro” on listings?

That note appears on shared Silverado/Sierra bed liner listings; check your build sheet before ordering.

10. Do liners fit the 2027 Silverado 1500?

The sources checked confirm no 2027 bed liner fit yet; confirm with the maker first.

Read the bed, then choose

Name your bed length, tailgate and body style, then choose a liner type GM or the maker says works with what is already there. Treat “not stated” as a question for the maker.
