The Full 2026 F-150 Trim Lineup by Cab, Bed, Drive and Engine

2026 Ford F-150 trim ladder showing all eight F-150 trims from XL to Raptor

How many trims the 2026 F-150 really has

Ford sells the 2026 F-150 in eight series, though some shopping sites list nine because they count Raptor R on its own.

Comparing two trims? Start with the step-up tables. Need a specific cab, bed or 4×2? Go to the configuration matrix. Towing? Read the equipment section, then check your exact build in our F-150 specs by configuration guide.

    The eight series Ford sells

Ford’s 2026 F-150 lineup page and its order guide list the same eight: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor and Raptor. The biggest differences aren’t only features but which cab, bed, drivetrain and engine each one can be ordered with.

Why Raptor R and Platinum Plus aren’t separate trims

Both are equipment groups inside a series. Raptor R is group 803A of the Raptor, and Platinum Plus is group 703A of the Platinum.

ℹ️ Safety Note: This page covers towing equipment and factory wheel sizes by trim, not tow ratings or load limits. Towing capability depends on your exact cab, box, engine, axle and packages, and exceeding a rating affects braking and stability.

📍 Check your own vehicle first: Specifications vary by build date, package and market, and two trucks with the same badge can be built differently. Before you buy, confirm the series, equipment group, engine and options on the window sticker, and the build date on the VIN build sheet. If your truck disagrees with this page, your truck is right.

Regular Cab is XL-only, with a 6.5-foot box on a 122.5-inch wheelbase or an 8-foot box on 141 inches. SuperCab is offered on XL, STX and XLT, always with the 6.5-foot box.

    The new 4×2 luxury trims

📐 On the Spec Sheet: Ford’s 2026 F-150 order guide lists “4×2 – added to Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum” as a mechanical change for this model year.

Which trims get the 6.5-foot box

The 157-inch SuperCrew with a 6.5-foot box is 4×4-only on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. STX, Tremor and Raptor are 5.5-foot only; our real-inch F-150 bed dimensions cover what each box holds.

Which engine each 2026 F-150 trim starts with

The standard engine depends on trim and, on some trims, wheelbase.

    TrimStandardOptionalApplies To (2026)
    XL2.7L EcoBoost5.0L V8, 3.5L EcoBoost141″ and 145″ wheelbase

    Raptor3.5L EcoBoost High Output5.2L supercharged V8 (Raptor R)SuperCrew 4×4

When wheelbase changes the standard engine

An XL Regular Cab with the 6.5-foot box comes with the 5.0L V8 as standard, and the 157-inch XL gets the 3.5L EcoBoost. On XL, the hybrid is fleet-only.

Where the hybrid and V8 are offered

📐 On the Spec Sheet: For trucks built on or after April 6, 2026 (Job #2), Ford made the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid available with 4×2 on STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum.

    The STX Lobo’s V8 requirement

The STX Lobo Package requires the 5.0L V8 and a SuperCrew 4×4.

Equipment groups: why two XLTs can be very different trucks

The equipment group code on the window sticker decides much of what a trim includes.

Reading the group code on a sticker

🔍 What This Spec Means: The first digit names the series (1 XL, 2 STX, 3 XLT, 4 Tremor, 5 Lariat, 6 King Ranch, 7 Platinum, 8 Raptor). The rest identifies the level within it. On XLT, 302A adds a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise, heated front seats and remote start over 300A.

The groups that behave like extra trims

    • Raptor 37 (802A): 37-inch all-terrain tires on bead-lock-capable wheels.
    • Raptor R (803A): 5.2L supercharged V8.
    • Platinum Plus (703A): hybrid standard, 22-inch wheels, SuperCrew 4×4 5.5-foot only.
    • STX FX4 (201A): electronic locker, skid plates, off-road shocks.

Towing and power equipment that changes by trim

Trims differ in towing hardware, not just ratings, and Ford’s 2026 RV and trailer towing guide sets the rating for each configuration.

Where the Tow/Haul Package is standard, optional or blocked

The Tow/Haul Package is standard on King Ranch and Platinum, and not available with the 2.7L on XL, STX or XLT. Raptor includes an integrated trailer brake controller as standard. Our guide to the Tow/Haul Package versus the Max Tow Axle covers what each adds.

Pro Power Onboard output by trim

    • 400 W: XLT 302A/303A, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum.
    • 2 kW: Tremor and Raptor (removed on Raptor R).
    • 2.4 kW with the hybrid; 7.2 kW optional with the hybrid.

✅ Do This: Ask the dealer for this VIN’s trailer tow rating from Ford’s towing guide, and read the GVWR on the door-jamb certification label. Compare figures by engine in our F-150 towing capacity chart.

Trim combinations that trip up 2026 F-150 buyers

Some builds look plausible online but aren’t in Ford’s order guide.

    Combinations Ford won’t build

🚫 Fits But Shouldn’t: The STX Lobo Package can’t be combined with the Tow/Haul Package, per Ford’s order guide. If you need both a V8 and factory tow hardware on STX, the Lobo isn’t the route.

🚫 Fits But Shouldn’t: At least one order-guide summary online lists a 4×2 Tremor. Ford’s own guide lists Tremor only as a SuperCrew 4×4 with a 5.5-foot box.

Checking a lot truck before you sign

Confirm the model year on the window sticker, since 2027 trucks are arriving and group content can change between years. For a 4×2 hybrid, check the VIN build sheet date. Read tire size and load information from the door-jamb placard, not a listing.
