Silverado Super Cruise Trims and the Overlooked Option-Code Check

Table of Contents
Super Cruise is GM’s hands-free highway driving assistance. On the Silverado 1500 it follows model year, trim and option code together: for 2026 the High Country lists it, and for 2027 Chevrolet’s page lists the High Country and ZR2, with more trims reported.
Cross-shopping trims or checking a used 2022–2025 truck? Start with the table. For each trim’s specs, see our Silverado 1500 specs by configuration.
ℹ️ Safety Note: Tow ratings depend on your exact build, and exceeding one affects braking and stability.
📍 Check your own vehicle first: Option content varies by build date and package. Confirm against the VIN build sheet, window sticker and owner’s manual. If your truck disagrees with this page, your truck is right.

What the 2026 High Country Super Cruise package includes

On a 2026 truck, Super Cruise comes through an option code. GM Authority reports the High Country Premium II Super Cruise Package as RPO PDT and describes availability as Crew Cab / Short Bed.
Is it adaptive cruise control?
No. OnStar’s steps start with Adaptive Cruise Control, then the Super Cruise button.
Does a Technology Package truck have it?

Can you use Super Cruise while towing?
Yes, on equipped trucks: Chevrolet lists Super Cruise with trailering on the 2026 High Country and the 2027 High Country and ZR2.
What it can’t be combined with
Chevrolet’s Super Cruise page says trailering cannot be used with Automatic Lane Change or Turn Signal Activated Lane Change.
Where the tow rating comes from
It is driver assistance, not a rating; the tow rating comes from your truck’s engine, axle, cab and packages. See tow ratings by engine or the Towing Capacity Lookup.
✅ Do This: Read the rated tow limit for your exact VIN in the owner’s manual; treat hands-free trailering as assistance, never margin.
What Super Cruise costs after the free OnStar years
Every Super Cruise truck includes three years of OnStar One, then needs an eligible paid plan, per Chevrolet; OnStar says it requires an active plan or trial.
What it costs to keep it
OnStar’s plan page offers monthly or yearly billing (12 months for the price of 10) but shows no price.
What a Super Cruise truck costs
For 2027, gm-trucks reported Chevrolet’s configurator at $71,700 (High Country) and $77,200 (ZR2) before destination on September 18, 2026.
How to confirm Super Cruise on the exact truck you’re buying
Three checks settle it for one truck:
- Ask the dealer for the VIN build sheet and find the Super Cruise option line, not the trim name.
- Read the window sticker’s equipment list.
- Read the owner’s manual’s Super Cruise section.
Listing traps
Silverado EV, LD and HD pages describe other vehicles. Chevrolet notes late availability on select vehicles; confirm the build date.
