Documented F-150 Tire Sizes by 2026 Trim, Drivetrain, Package

Table of Contents
What size tires does a 2026 F-150 have?
A 2026 F-150 leaves the factory on at least ten documented tire sizes. They run from 245/70R17 all-season tires on a two-wheel-drive XL up to 37-inch all-terrains on the Raptor 37 and Raptor R. No single size answers the question, because four variables set it.
The four things that set your size
Your trim level, your equipment group code (such as 300A or 501A), your drivetrain, and any package or powertrain option all change the tire.
- Cross-shopping trims? Start with the table below.
- Matching replacement tires to a truck you own? Jump to the placard check near the end.
- Eyeing another trim’s bigger tire? Read the traps section first.
Not shopping a 2026?
Other model years in this generation are covered in our F-150 specs for every model year and configuration.
ℹ️ Safety Note: Tire size, load index and load range are set per configuration. A tire below your truck’s required rating affects braking, stability and load capacity, not just ride. Use this page to compare, then confirm against the placard on your own truck before buying.
📍 Check your own vehicle first: Specifications vary by build date, package and market, and two trucks with the same badge can be built differently. Before you buy anything based on this page, confirm against the Tire and Loading Information placard on the driver-side door jamb. If your vehicle disagrees with this page, your vehicle is right.

Source: Ford’s 2026 F-150 order guide, pp. 2, 7, 11, 13, 18, 21, 25, 29, 33–34. A/S = all-season, A/T = all-terrain. *PowerBoost hybrid 4x4s get all-season unless FX4 is ordered.
✅ Do This: Find your equipment group code (the three digits plus a letter) on the window sticker or build data. Then read the size off your door-jamb placard, not off the tires currently fitted.
How FX4, 20-inch and 22-inch packages change the size

Packages override the standard tire, and some of them also restrict what else you can order.
FX4 and the LT265/70R18
The STX FX4 group (201A) includes an LT265/70R18 all-terrain tire on an 18″ black painted wheel. On the XLT, option T8C adds an LT265/70R18C. T8C requires the FX4 Off-Road Package, which is 4×4 only, and it can’t be combined with the 20″ chrome-like or 20″ Black Package wheels.
20-inch upgrades
The STX Mid group (200A) moves to a 20″ dark gray wheel on 275/60R20. That tire is all-season on 4×2 and all-terrain on 4×4.
22-inch wheels and their powertrain gates
📐 On the Spec Sheet: Ford’s 2026 order guide lists the 22″ wheels on Lariat 502A (options 649/64Z), King Ranch (646) and Platinum 702A (648) as requiring the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid, and none is available with FX4. The STX Lobo Package 22″ instead requires the 5.0L V8. Platinum Plus (703A) has 22″ wheels as standard. (pp. 9, 19, 22, 26–27)
Ford’s guide lists these 22-inch wheels but not their tire size. Read that size from the placard of the specific truck.
Why two 2026 F-150s of the same trim wear different tires
The XLT shows why the trim name alone won’t settle it.
| 2026 XLT configuration | Factory tire | Applies To |
|---|---|---|
| 4×2, base 300A | 245/70R17 A/S | SuperCab, SuperCrew |
| 4×2, 301A/302A | 265/60R18 A/S | SuperCab, SuperCrew |
| 4×4, any group | 275/65R18 A/T | SuperCab, SuperCrew |
| 4×4 + FX4 + option T8C | LT265/70R18C A/T | Eligible groups |

4×2 vs 4×4
Drivetrain changes both the size and the tread type on the XLT.
Equipment group
Moving from 300A to 301A or 302A changes the 4×2 tire from 17-inch to 18-inch.
Hybrid switches all-terrain to all-season
On Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum 4x4s, the PowerBoost hybrid keeps the same 275/60R20 size but gets all-season tread unless FX4 is added.
How tall are 2026 F-150 factory tires?
Nominal diameter shows which factory sizes land close together.
Nominal diameters, smallest to largest
| Size | Nominal diameter | Applies To (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| 245/70R17 | 30.5″ | XL and XLT 4×2 |
| 265/60R18 | 30.5″ | STX 4×2; XLT 4×2 301A/302A |
| 265/70R17 | 31.6″ | XL 4×4 |
| 275/65R18 | 32.1″ | STX and XLT 4×4 |
| LT265/70R18 | 32.6″ | STX FX4; XLT FX4 option |
| 275/60R20 | 33.0″ | STX 200A, Lariat 501A/502A, King Ranch, Platinum |
| 275/70R18 | 33.2″ | Tremor |
| LT315/70R17 | 34.4″ | Raptor 801A |
| 37×12.5R17 | ~37″ | Raptor 37, Raptor R |
Calculated from each size designation: rim + 2 × (width × aspect ratio) ÷ 25.4. Actual height varies by tire model.
🔍 What This Spec Means: In 275/65R18, 275 is the width in millimeters, 65 is sidewall height as a percentage of that width, and 18 is the wheel diameter in inches.
Sizes that land close together
The XLT 4×2’s 245/70R17 and the 301A’s 265/60R18 are nominally the same height, even though one is on a 17-inch wheel and the other on an 18-inch wheel. To see how any swap shifts your speedometer, run it through our tire size comparison and speedometer error tool. A close height does not make two sizes interchangeable
2026 F-150 tire swaps that fit but can backfire
These four traps don’t show up in a plain size list.
Swapping an LT tire for a passenger tire
🚫 Fits But Shouldn’t: A passenger-rated 265/70R18 mounts on the same 18-inch wheel as the LT265/70R18C Ford specifies on STX FX4 and XLT FX4 trucks. The problem is construction: “LT” marks a light-truck tire and “C” its load range, so the passenger version may carry less load. The load index and load range on your placard settle it.
22-inch wheels vs towing packages
The King Ranch 22″ option removes the upgraded rear bumper from the Tow/Haul Package. The Platinum 702A 22″ option can’t be ordered with the Max Tow axle upgrade (pp. 22, 27). For more on how those two packages differ, see our comparison of Tow/Haul Package vs the Max Tow axle.
Tremor and Raptor sizes on other trims
Ford pairs those tires with unique Tremor control arms and knuckles and with the Raptor’s long-travel suspension (pp. 29, 33). Don’t assume they transfer to another trim; we cover what that swap involves in putting Raptor wheels on a regular F-150.
When sources disagree
Retailer lists contradict each other on 22-inch sizes. When they do, your placard wins.
✅ Do This: Ask a tire technician to compare the load index and load range on the replacement’s sidewall with your placard. Have them confirm the replacement equals or exceeds both before mounting.
How to confirm your F-150’s factory tire size
Your truck carries its own answer in three places.
Door-jamb placard
The Tire and Loading Information placard on the driver-side door jamb lists the original tire size and the recommended cold inflation pressure. NHTSA’s tire safety guide explains what the placard and certification label contain.
Sidewall, window sticker and build data
The sidewall shows size, load index and speed rating. The window sticker or build data confirms option codes such as FX4 (55A) or T8C.
Frequently asked questions
1. What size tires come on a 2026 F-150 XLT?
The 2026 F-150 XLT uses 245/70R17 on base 4×2, 265/60R18 on 4×2 301A/302A, and 275/65R18 all-terrain on 4×4.
2. Does the 2026 F-150 Tremor use 33-inch tires?
Yes, nominally. The Tremor’s factory 275/70R18 all-terrain works out to about 33.2 inches tall; actual height varies by tire model.
3. What tires come on the 2026 F-150 Raptor 37?
The 2026 F-150 Raptor 37 and Raptor R use 37×12.5R17 all-terrain tires on bead-lock-capable 17-inch wheels; the base Raptor uses LT315/70R17.
4. Are 2026 F-150 hybrid tires all-terrain?
Not always. On Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum 4x4s, the PowerBoost hybrid gets 275/60R20 all-season tires unless FX4 is ordered.
5. Can I put 275/60R20 tires on a 2026 F-150 that came with 275/65R18?
Only with 20-inch wheels. The sizes differ by about 0.9 inch nominally, and load index must still meet your placard’s requirement. Have a tire technician confirm it against your door-jamb placard.
6. What does LT mean on 2026 F-150 tires?
LT marks light-truck construction; Ford specifies LT tires on the STX FX4, the XLT FX4 option, and the base Raptor. Replacements should match or exceed your placard’s load range.
7. Which 2026 F-150s get 22-inch wheels?
Platinum Plus and the STX Lobo package include 22-inch wheels; Lariat 502A, King Ranch and Platinum 702A offer them with the hybrid only.
8. Where do I find my 2026 F-150’s tire size?
Read the Tire and Loading Information placard on the driver-side door jamb; it lists the factory tire size and cold inflation pressure. Trust it over the tires currently fitted.
9. Do 4×2 and 4×4 2026 F-150 XLTs use the same tires?
No. A base 2026 F-150 XLT 4×2 uses 245/70R17 all-season tires, while every XLT 4×4 uses 275/65R18 all-terrains.
10. What’s the narrowest factory tire on a 2026 F-150?
The 245/70R17 all-season on the XL and XLT 4×2 is the narrowest 2026 F-150 factory tire, about 30.5 inches tall nominally.
The short version before you buy tires
Your 2026 F-150’s tire size follows its trim, equipment group, drivetrain and packages, not the badge alone. The door-jamb placard is the final word on size, load index and load range. Match or exceed it, and check any size change in the tire size comparison tool before spending.
